My Apple profiler gives me exactly the same info as yours (may be the same card) except mine gives the card type as USB. I'd bet on the lack of driver support. Your extensions folder should have a bunch of USB support extensions. You don't need them all, need some depending on what you want to connect. If I remember, I believe my card didn't show until I had at least one USB device connected. Hope that helps.
