HI all. I'm in the process of convincing a PC using friend (I don't hold it
against people what they use!) to take his old 7600/132 out of the closet
and use it instead of his PC. I'm setting him up with 7.6.1 on one
partition to run VPC 2 (Windows 95) and the other with 9.1 for newer stuff.
I could set him up with VPC 4, (Windoze ME) but that requires a G3. (I'll
convince him to upgrade the 7600 later. One step at a time!!)

The Problem: He can use may of his PC programs with VPC 2 (They are fairly
old too), but wants to be able to connect via Yahoo IM in VPC. (He needs to
be able to use it while in some of his PC programs.) The current version of
Yahoo Instant Messenger for PC requires Internet Exploder version 4.0 or
better. VPC 2 has 3.0. (VPC 4 would have a later version, but VPC is famous
for using Windoze version software tailored to the specific Windoze version
installed. I.E. The Windoze ME version of IE won't work with Windoze 95.

Option 1: Is there a download site that has IE 4 or 5 (6 requires Windoze 98
or better) for free download?

Option 2: A download site with an earlier version of Yahoo's IM that is
still usable, but works with IE 3?

Option 3: A way to use the Mac version of Yahoo's IM while in VPC 2?

Thanks

David Allen
