The point I'm trying to make is that most people don't know that there is a standard for abbreviation. And after reading the replies those who do know can't come to a consensus. In most cases the reference is obvious "I just got a killer deal on a 128 mb RAM chip for my MAC". That being said, I understand the need to be accurate in order to diagnose a problem, so when a consensus is reached post it and I'll do my best.
