I helped a friend get a PCI Ethernet card (D-Link DFE530TX). He installed it in his 6500 (275MHz / 128MB / OS9.1).
D-Link driver 1.0 installed. The Mac freezes on start-up.
When extensions are disabled, the Mac starts OK with or without the card.
Same problem after Apple's Ethernet extensions were removed.
D-Link recommendations on box: any PowerMac 300MHz or faster. I can't believe that 275MHz is the culprit.
Any ideas?
