Hmmm. What's the last System version that works with a QuickTake 100?

8.6 seems to break the QuickTake software.

Anyone know?

Yea. The QuickTake installer is not very smart. It replaces some critical files with older stuff, which breaks not only itself but other things also.

Start by locating the ObjectSupportLib and trash it. A newer vers is
in the System suitcase, that gets overriden if this bugger is present.

Then check the vers number and dates on the rest of your exts and
restore things as necessary. Sorry I can't give better details ...
I tend to not track specific files because I use labels and move
stuff enmass.

The QuickTake software consists of:

Exts: GeoPort Serial Driver, Serial Extension, QuickTake Access,
QuickTake Camera, & QuickTake Image.

Cdev: QuickTake Image Access.

HTH,
- Dan.

Thanks for the hints. I did not know about OSL but now I do. I was able to get the QTake 150 working with the QT 100 on both 8.1 and 8.6.

It sticks an old QuickTime PowerPlug in, but you can't install unless you move the PowerPlug to the Desktop anyway ("File is in use" says Mr Installer which then goes back to the get-go).

It sticks an old version of QuickTime in, so rename your QuickTime file to something like Quicktime5 and then trash the old QuickTime. Name your Applescript extension something like AppleScriptAAA. It sticks an old Applescript in. Find and trash.

The Installer does ask about replacing a few items, just keep clicking Newer until it gives up.

Shared Library Manager is 2.0.1, so if your current version is later, copy it to the desktop and replace the QuickTake version later.
