I've finally had it with the OS & RAM limitations of my maxed old StarMax
3000/200. I hate running VM and the application hogs are eating me up.
Time to budget a move, up.

Am looking for suggestions for the most PCI case/Mobo bang for the buck
to put the SM guts (listed below) in and then opt out the memory. Course,
l'll have to trade or sell my old SM memory.

Configuration:

160MB RAM maxed
MetaBox JoeCard G3/320
Slot 1: Sonnet Tempo ATA/100 PCI card
Slot 2: ATI Radeon 7000 DDR 32MB PCI Video card
Slot 3: Farallon Ethernet Card
Slot 4: Empty
Slot 5: IXMicro ix3D UltimateRez Video Card (would be cool to get
accelerator software to work for both monitors)
2 Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 133 HD's, 80GB & 40GB
Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R100 (this config does a marginal to good job of
playing DVD's, slow bus?)
32X CDRW in a lower bay (some obscure branded $20 onsite closeout from
OfficeMax, works like a champ and even boots)
Been using OS 9.1 (with OpenGL from OS 9.2.1)
Have a Logear USB 2.0 PCI card (2 port) to use but haven't tried it since
I didn't like the way a XLR8 card overpolled. Wouldn't mind the
connectivity, maybe in a better box.
And I have a sweet old UMAX S12 SCSI scanner to connect.

Any and all suggestions/discussion welcomed!

To salvage the most that you can from you present setup, "IMHO", a PPC 9600/200 would give you less problems for upgrading and are very stable machines. Most of what you have will transfer. Some won't...
