I'm upgrading from OS 8.6 to 9.1 on my PM 7300 with a Sonnet G3/400 upgrade processor. I need the OS 9x upgrade to run Toast Lite 5 which I need to run my CD-R/RW. I'm gathering a rather impressive set of CDs, I must say.
TIA, Fred
I am also running 8.6 and want to upgrade to OS 9x to run InDesign. I have a 9.2.1 disk and it won't install. Is this because I don't have 9.0 or 9.1 or is this because I don't have a G3 processor (9600/2300). I'm pretty sure it is a universal disk, orange 9 on white, nothing on cd about specific machine. But it does say it won't install on my machine when I try to install it. Also won't start up from this cd with same message, leading me to think it must need a
G3 since it wouldn't be looking for an earlier system on start up. Does 9.1 need a G3?
Carolyn
I did in the past run both Indesign and Toast on 8.6 with no problem, maybe it was like toast did not install - but it works under 8.6. If the 9.2.1 is a full install disk and not just the upgrade it won't run because of the machine limitations, the same with the 9.2.1 upgrade. Check out www.os9forever.com for help.
