**as far as HDs go, go SCSI all the way
(unless you have IDEs already on hand)

there was a link for $15 an 18gb HD
Cheetah (10k rpm) drive on dealmac.
Dont know if still available, the store
was surplus computers, i think. $15 is
a good price!

** dont need to update processor card,
but make sure your RAM is interleaved
and that as much as you can afford is maxxed
out.

** i have the same system and did not
upgrade my processor card and add more RAM
until this last Xmas - five years with hardly any
upgrades (i did add 2- 64 mb ram sticks when
i first purchased it, also upped the video
ram to 4mb)

** if you can get a Radeon 7000 card, it
makes a difference (imho) to relieve the
onboard 4mb video ram card of any work.
But it is still very usable!

** if you are not a heavy user, you can use
this system for YEARS!! With my upgrades
i plan to keep this baby until the cows come
home - it does everything i need it to do!
sonnet g4/800mhz
672 RAM
radeon 7000
Belkin USB card
sonnet tango (usb/firew)
4gb stock Quantum Fireball
9gb Cheetah
2-18gb Cheetahs
stock floppy

If you have a VGA monitor with 5 BNC cable attachment
and want a cable to convert to a MAC connection
(same connector on 8600 mobo) you can have my
extra for a song....
