In Digest #2330 I wrote:

Well, having successfully installed the new Fujitsu Ultra-wide SCSI drive (model # MAF3364LC) in my 'FrankenMac' (8600/9600 Mother Board/xlr8G3/300Mhz/1.5GB RAM/OS 9.1), I now find that Apple Drive Setup will not work on it, just as I suspected. So now I need a drive formatting utility. I've used FWB's Hard Disk Toolkit (personal edition) before, but how does it compare to the regular Hard Disk Toolkit? And how do these compare with Intech's Hard Disk SpeedTools?

I was able to get around this problem by using a copy of Apple Drive Setup (v 2.0.1) from my G4 at work and hacking it slightly. Worked like a champ. I now have a 26 GB partition for OS 9 and all my applications plus an 8GB partition for future installation of OS X. Thanks to whoever sent me this tip.

And, thanks to OS 9 Helper, I now have OS 9.2.2 running smoothly on this machine as well!
