Hi: I am new to the PCI PowerMac group and I have a bunch of questions regarding my two PowerMacs. They are a powerMac 7500/ and 7200/90. My PowerMac 7500/100 gives me a Finder error when I shut down, the error being either line 10 or 11 or both. Also, it reads music CDs but does not read CD-RW. Even when my iBook can read them. Is it a software problem? Can anyone give me some insight into why this is occurring. My OS is 7.6. Should I try to get my hands on a copy of 7.6 and reinstall it or will it be better to upgrade it? And to what? I hear that I can upgrade to OS 9.1. I'd like to hear any comments on this.
Also, I was wondering whether I could use either of these PowerMacs to get on the internet via the Ethernet connection. What software would I need that would be compatible to each or both of them? Finally, they were eBay purchases, too. The 7200/90 came with a crushed front panel so the whole system almost slid out when I was removing it from the box. Thankfully, it didn't. It works fine but I can't have it around with a two-year old daughter. She too inquistive. The 7500/100 came in packing peanuts, too. But the shipper was smart. He bubblewrapped the unit and taped it down with a transparent packing tape. Nothing got into it. It was shipped from MD to NJ. If you guys are out there in MD thanks for the expert packing job!!!!
