Have now downloaded the 15 part 9.1 from Apple (it is free now by the way and is for folk with 9). It is supposed to work as an update for 9.04 (which I have running on my 7600 G3/4 Powerlogic 360 MHz 512 RAM).
Since I finally found a faulty memory chip in my 7600 - after messing about for hours - and replaced the chip with a good one, my machine is running very sweetly. Should I update now that I have this 9.1 (finally)? Whenever I have "updated" in the past, an earlier version of things like Quicktime and IE get loaded and have to be weeded out ... Is it worth it? Should I just keep this updater for when I have any problems that I can't trace to anything but the 9.04 OS? I know, deep questions... but now that I am on this list, I do not feel that I have to take responsibilty for my own decisions. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
