I need some help installing OS X on a Maxtor drive. I want to use this drive in a Beige of which I not currently in possession. So the questions are:

1) Can I install the OS on the drive and send the drive to the person who needs it.
2) If so, how.
3) Will it start-up after installing the drive?

I don't know if these are dumb questions, but I tell my students that the only dumb question is the one not asked, so I'm asking.

The drive is 19 GB Maxtor, M/N 92049U6. I am working on a jazzed up 7300/G3-300 with X.2.6 and 9.1. The computer this drive would go into is a Beige G3 currently set for 300mhz (350 possible--not overclocked--if I had the jumpers) rev A, with 300+ MB of RAM. It's current drive is nearly to capacity (5.5 GB on a 6 GB Hard drive).

What do you all think?

TIA
