By MB, I am assuming you are talking about ram? Motherboards from all many 5xxx series and 6xxx series should be interchangeable, so the ram may be as well. "5xxx" is a little broad as there is the 5200 series which takes 72 pin SIMMS and the 5400-5500 series which take 168 pin DIMMS. So if your machine is a 5400-5500 series, the 6400-6500 ram chips should work as well.
If your all-in-one is a 5200 series, and you have a 6400/6500 motherboard you can switch out, you will end up with a better machine in the bargain. I have upgraded a number of 5200/75 LC's to 5500/225's this way, and it is actually pretty nice. Stan in Denver ps. By the way, someone on the swap list has a 5500/225 mobo that will work nicely on the kind of swap mentioned above... --- Mark Falzon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Does anyone know if it is possible to put a 6400 or 6500 MB in a 5xxx > series > all in one machine. > > chemtechman > > -- > PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... > > Small Dog Electronics http://www.smalldog.com | Refurbished > Drives | > -- Sonnet & PowerLogix Upgrades - start at $169 | & CDRWs on > Sale! | > > Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> > > PCI-PowerMacs list info: > <http://lowendmac.com/lists/pci-powermacs.shtml> > --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" > Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To unsubscribe, email: > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > For digest mode, email: > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Archive:<http://www.mail-archive.com/pci-powermacs%40mail.maclaunch.com/> > > Using a Mac?
