---OK Having said that, if i have 2 PMacs and I wanted to use them as one by using ethernet, do I need 10/100 ethernet cards for both?
Nope.
Do i need to make identical upgrades to each PM in order to recieve satisfactory performance?
They will talk to each other with a crossover cable, or if you are on cable internet, just plug them both to a hub and you will have both surfing at once.
If I just plug the cable into both and fire them up, will they "know" eachother?
Not until you name each Mac in the file sharing panel, and turn on file sharing, then log into one from the other.
