Almost certainly has to be identical. OTOH, if you can do soldering work, it might be possible to replace the connector. It MIGHT even be possible to extract and replace the broken pin with some sleight-of-hand, be a bit tricky, but probably less so than extracting a 50 pin connector intact. (I assume it's a 50 pin 10th inch center square pin header-type SCSI-I connector. If it's one of the high-density connectors, you're on your own...) Of course, you might end up with a dead controller board, but it seems to me that you'd be no worse off than you are now.
