Hello,
I'm a first time poster, but I've been reading the
other questions with interest.

I've been trying to get a dvd player for my UMAX
clone, and had tried to attatch it using Acard IDE PCI
adapter. My Startup drive is also on the card, and
what I thought was just a slave/master conflict could
have been a software issue. Sometimes, I would
connect the DVD drive and startup, to find that it
wanted to format a disk (which was not in the DVD
drive) which I thought meant that the drive was
recognised, but the software could not read DVDS. I'm
using 9.2.2 patched with the 'oldworld' support so
that it runs on the UMAX.

What DVD player are you using? ALso, to patch it with oldworld support, what did you use? Did you use OS9Helper? I would use that. In order to use Apple's DVD player you will also need to run the DVD player hack to get it to work. Download them both from www.os9forever.com
