Here's the what:
IBM Ultrastar 18ES 9 GB SCSI PowerMac 7300/200 Using the stock 12X Apple CD-ROM NO PCI cards installed 4 MB VRAM 288 MB RAM
I've tried this drive on the fast bus, and the slow. I've tried spin delay, no spin delay, auto spin, no auto spin, term power on, no term power, terminated, not terminated. Tried switching SCSI ID's between ID's 0, 1, & 2. Tried with the stock 2 GB Apple Seagate drive, and without. NOTHING WORKS.
The drive does spin up, and I can hear and feel it accessing. It doesn't mount on the desktop, and Drive Setup doesn't see it at all, even just scanning the buses. Using OS 9.1 drive setup, on 9.1 CD.
The only thing that's changed from when it worked before was that I added 2 MB of VRAM to max it out. I doubt this would affect it, though.
The PRAM battery is good, I've reset the PRAM and the CUDA chip EVERY TIME I've made a change. Like I said, this drive supposedly worked in a Mac before, and a similar PCI Mac, too.
PLEASE, PLEASE help with this. This is the second drive I've bought to increase my drive capacity in this Mac, and I haven't gotten any of them to work yet. This is really starting to make me angry...
