Hi ListersCheck if Virtual memory is on, trash the desktopfiles and rebuild the desktop, check for any cachefiles ? if you installed OS X and then deleted it it left lots of inv files they tell me.
I have been working with a 7600/G3 with an internal of 1GB and two external drives attached. The machine has worked faultlessly for over a year but yesterday I could not print a job due to lack of disk space. With the minimum number of apps that I need plus OS 9.1 installed I used to have about 350MB of space on the internal but about 250MB has gone AWOL. The total of the amount of space each folder occupies plus the spare space does not add up to anything near IGB. There is nothing lurking on the desktop that I have not accounted for.
It seems some invisible file(s) has gobbled up the space. I do not want to take everything off and reinitialise, unless I really have to. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should look or how I can find out where the hard disk space has gone?
TIA
Nick
