Have the programs resent to you as ZIP files. Do not unzip them on 
the PC, copy them over to the Mac. Then unzip them via Stuffit 
Expander.

That should work.

As for the files you currently have, try changing the filetype. Odds 
are, the filetype currently is TEXT or something similar. What you 
want is APPL (shorthand for application).
