The volume control module on the Control Strip does not work, either; it resets to the lowest level regardless of the volume level selected.
Sound (for example, from a game CD in the CD-ROM) plays through both the built-in speaker and the outboard speakers, but other than the volume control on the outboard speakers, I have no control over sound output. Unplugging the outboard speakers has no effect. I have trashed the sound preferences with no effect.
Any clues, anyone?
