THE CD DRAWER WON'T OPEN WHEN I PUSH THEW BUTTON, EITHER.
I believe the 7220 is the export 4400...
My wife's 7220 wouldn't keep time, so I pulled it down to change the 4.5V PRAM battery, which hides inaccessibly under the drive bays. Once the drives were out, it took me a bit to figure out that the battery is velcroed in... talk about Disney mice...
What an asinine case and interior design! A real POS. Designed by Windoze gnomes? Anyway, the $31battery velcroed in, use all 3 hands to reassemble the thing, connect it up, push the power switch, LED comes on, one chime... and nothing else. No chuckinng to say it's booting up; no monitor.
Check all connections... OK. Pull apart, check all plugs, chips, processor etc... everything is as it should be. Still no go.
Anyone had similar problems with this model?
Check and make sure the cables plugging into the HD and CD are firmly seated along with the power cables. Pressing the CUDA one time is also recommended after a battery change. If that doesn't work, try disconnecting the data cable to the CD since it is doing strange things.
