If you can choose .bin instead, get that.....in order to work it must NOT decompress in any way on the PC. A .smi should then work since it's a Mac "self mounting image."
I don't know, I'm just theorizing. I haven't had to do that in ages.
If the file looks intact then it's worth a try.
