I played that huge new Matrix trailer on a G5 1.6 at work and it stuttered, so don't feel bad. And UT2003 needs some pretty fast hardware to push it also, i've seen it run a little jerky at work on brand new 17" iMac 1.25's.
Try the original UT or Q3, that should give you a better idea of 3D performance.
