HI Josh, I just installed one of these PowerLogix upgrades in my Rev2 B&W purchased from OWC. I see this week's price is down to $239; I paid $247 two weeks ago! I haven't made any qualitative tests but it seems faster than the original 400 mhz processor.
FYI: I did have a very trying time to get the thing running ! OWC's tech's tried to help but didn't know the answer and you can't get to Powerlogix easily by telephone. So about a week later the correct procedure came in response to email when I asked for a "case" number to give to OWC before they would issue me an RMA for it. Between the two of them I was not happy on how they handled my problem. Owc wanted a 15% restocking fee for a refund, even though they say in their "terms" "30 day replacement on most items" but they forgot to indicate which of their items were not in the "most' category list and which you had tio have manufacturer approval from. One of OWC's tech's even gave me a "lecture" about reading their "fine print" which really got my attention. If you do get one I'd be glad to share the info from Powerlogix which was lacking from their initial instructions. If anyone has one and could say provide me with a description of the usability increase, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Josh -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
