If you want to sell one of these... I'd be interested. I'm running a Powercomputing PTP G4/450 with 1gb RAM and I have one unused pci slot. Does anyone out there have any experience with a PC compatibility card in a computer of similar configuration? Also, is the 166 Mgh chip onboard upgradeable?

Thanks,
Scott

When I opened one up, it had a full
length card in slot 1. Upon inspection, it appears to be a DOS card
or similar. The are no markings of anyone claiming to have
manufactured the board. It shows in the ASP as as pci106b,c with a
vender code of 106B.

This is a PC Compatibilty Card, not a DOS Compatibility Card.

A Pentium P166, most likely ... my PCCC, which has the very same ASP
readout, is.

These are very good cards, and with pcSetup 2.1.7f (free download is
avaialble from the developer) they are compatible out to at least MacOS
9.2.1, and out to Win95 if not to 98. No reason to stick with Win 3.1.1,
which was provided with the DOS Compatibility Card, but NOT with the PCCC.

Perhaps more stable than any real Pentium PC ever manufactured.

It may be stable, but in my case, Windows 98 blue-screens when shutting down. Probably need to get more RAM for it. It has a 32MB DIMM in at the moment for 48MB total.

I'm using the 2.1.7f control panel, and was using the 2.1.7f Windows software as well. However, I've since wiped the image file and installed DOS to play some of the older pre Win-95 games, like Crusader: No Remorse.
