there is a camera symbol in the settings panel - but that is made to pick up picture from the video in or svhs in, AVP is not able to recognize USB tools.

Correct but we're not talking about a USB camera we're talking about the native analog video-in card for the 6500.


I'm trying a 9.1 re-install as we speak here. I specifically selected Apple Video Player from the custom installation options. We'll see how that works.
