My PM 8500 has just ceased startup with no warning and I'm hoping someone can help me. the power comes on, chimes, hard drives tick away as normal but nothing comes on the monitor. I have tried another monitor, alternative CPU and hard drives but no difference. My monitor has a little light that normally changes from orange to green when it starts up but it is not changing. Does this all mean that I have a problem in the Motherboard? What are my options (if any). I have fallen back on my reserve 6100 and it has taken me a day ust to get emails working, so I am really heading for despair and depression...Any help or support will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wil Australia
"tis a dead PRAM battery!!! Have you tried replacing it? Alan Miller Underwater Photographer Thanks Alan but I tried that and it makes no difference. It just seems to stall at the point where the monitor should come on. Sorry everyone if this has come through multiple times. I'm on digest mode so I'm a bit behind all the time.Having a hard time getting emails to go through with Outlook Express; I'm missing Eudora and only 16mB RAM on the 6100 is a real comedown -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
