In the preference settings for NS under Advanced, you can set the size of
the cache and how it is used in web access. Lovek gives good advice but I
would'nt bother with your set up about a RAM disk. If a cache is a set size
then it should not be sucking up your HD. If the slowness is not 56K
slowness, then defragging is certainly a good thing to do. I use the
Norton's SpeedDisk which gives simple instructions (4 points) re back up
etc. I have never had any trouble, it takes a while but sort of feels good!
(I must say, I do like Lovek's idea of another HD, copying etc, this gives a
backup in the process. An external HD even to 4G is dirt cheap and useful
for all sorts of things ...)
