All the conventional PCI 7xxx (including 7500), 8xxx (including 8500) and 9xxx (including 9500) machines take 5 volt sticks. Some or all of the chips themselves are often 3.3 volt, but even 3.3 volt chips have 5 volt I/O pins; it is internally, in their "core" that they are 3.3 volts. For those sticks which employ 3.3 volt chips, there is/are one or more 3.3 volt voltage regulators on those sticks. Usually sited at the corners of the sticks. So, these machines can accept an all 5 volt stick, a mixed 5/3.3 volt stick (with regulators for the 3.3 volt chips) or an all 3.3 volt stick (with regulators for all chips). -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
