Appearance Extension and OS 9.2.2

I just did a clean install of my system, OS 9.2.2, and I noticed an 
"Appearance Extension" in my previous system folder but not in my 
clean install of OS 9.2.2. Should this be installed? or did some 
program install this? It says version 1.0.2. I'm thinking some 
program installed this.
