I first ran limewire on a PM 7500 with a G3 300MHz CPU and it ran like crap. Now I have a Sawtooth G4 500MHz and it still runs like crap. The CPU is constantly pegged to the max. I disabled the compression to no avail and also downloaded the latest version of limewire. Has anyone else had problems with this software? Other file sharing programs seem to run fine.
On the other hand other programs run decent even when the CPU is being eaten up. I can still listen to MP3's through iTunes and write this email. Try that in a windows box. And you think they would be able to to it with today's high end CPU's. I mean come on, I have an AMD 2200+ and when it gets pegged thats it, either wait or kill the app causing it, no way can I use anything else. So I am thoroughly impressed with Apple's ability at maintaining a sound operating environment despite 100% CPU usage. how do they do it? Seriously I want to know Apple certified techs!?
Also, I know that limewire helps you download and steal MP3's. The only MP3's I steal are literally and honestly ones that I CANNOT find anywhere else, even online. For example, Hum, try and find a Hum album now a days. Or some rare bootleg Pearl Jam or live Counting Crows that isn't on any of their albums. or this awesome Radiohead and Portishead combo song, or some live Bjork stuff. And I feel guilty for doing it but I just can't find this stuff any where else. And I don't have to record Enterprise episodes because I can get them online. So for any arguments I am sure this will fuel, please just ignore the email and call me a thief off the list. I don't want to piss the list mom off any more with another unending thread.
Thanks a million in advance,

Mike
