> Subject: castration of realplayer ?thanks david
how do I get realplayer to stop putting itself as the player file helper in explorer ? if I delete the file helper prefs it puts itself there again whenever realplayer is started, very often with trying to start both quicktime and realplayer it leads to crashes. OS 9 , it was not so in OS 8.6 with the same applications, I want to see realplayer sent to where the pepper grows ! lovek
I had a similar problem with Acrobat. I didn't want it to run in the browser (IE) yet when I changed the preference it kept changing back. My solution was to remove the plug in from IE's plug ins folder. Now it runs as a separate application, which is how I prefer it.
David
I already tried that, but the realplayer doesnt need its plugin anymore, to perform that task - my idea now is to remember to always forcequit realplayer, because I suspect it does its gruesome deeds before closing the application.
Lovek
