Jess, The HD is still there but your computer can't see it because the low level format errased the HD tracks that tell your computer all the information it needs to recognize it as a HD. Pulling the cord stopped the errase in the middle of the program before those tracks were reset again. There are several programs that can reset the two initial tracks on the HD after they take a snapshot of the physical HD but for the life of me none come to mind at the moment. I think Disk Warrior is one if I'm not mistaken. And sweeping that HD with a magnet? Uh..., let's not go there. I can promise you it's not a good idea. You wouldn't believe all the things that can go wrong with that idea. From destroying the logic board (circuit board) to destroying the read write heads on the HD. Leave that trick up to those who don't understand the internal design of a HD. You can use the HD for a door stop after that.
Your HD is still good. You just need to put the right information back into the first two tracks so your computer can find it. That is what Low Level Format does. And it's not tricky. You just need the right software. Hang tuff and it will be alright. always Barb http://www.BarbieLee.com "Model Makers" "A Change of Heart" "The Alchemist" ask for them at your favorite book store -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
