!! NO GO, JAGUAR OR CLASSIC !!

I have a BIG problem.  I had my G3 beige running on OSX Jaguar on the 
internal 4GB HD when the password-protected screensaver came on.  This was 
when I realized that I had forgotten my password  :(  So I restart and go 
under System Preferences > Startup Disk and, playing around a little, 
pressed Network Startup (I have an iBook G4 on the home ethernet newtork).  
I then rebooted.  Bling!  The screen went white and it put the following 
text at the top:  "mac-boot, unknown word_"  And that was it; nothing else.  
I have tried to start off of various system CDs but to no avail; same old 
procedure.  Help!  Please help my troubled Beige G3!
