That's what I was told, too.  I believe it was by a Mac employee: That you
didn't need it (in my case, COULDN'T) download it unless you were running OS
9 in conjunction.  I have OS 9.1 and agree that OS 9 is about as stable as
it gets. OS 9.1 seems to be the same, so I am happy with what I have.
