> Check the DVD/CD/CDRW compatibility matrix and FAQ's to find thenecessary files to get your drive to work. There's also simple instructions on how to make your own file using hexedit or rezedit. Creating your own is as simple as opening the data fork and replacing one of the drives listed with the name of yours. I've gotten several CDRW's to work with disk burner, itunes, and be fully boot-able.
Ok, after some experimenting I finally got iTunes to recognize the Matshita/Panasonic 7502, but I got a unknown error -7932. Apple's Disc Burner app/utility just says to insert blank media, but ignores anything beyond that.
My 9600 decided not to recognize my Ricoh MP7060S bootable external-but-internally-mounted CDR/RW... after over a year of use, when I did a system reinstall.
I looked at xlr8yourmac and noted that others using OS9 were running their 7060Ss with Toast software. I went into my copy of Toast 5.0.2 and copied the Toast CD Reader extension and placed this in my extensions folder, then restarted.
