First principles are hard to see using fancy software to make web sites but
whether you use software besides a text editor like BBLite or not, you need
to check that the site works by inspecting the code or trialling a CD on
your machine. This is what I would do:

1. At the top level, have a file called index.html and a read me file called
readMe. In the readMe, tell Mac folk to drag the index.html file over any
browser icon or open from it within any browser. Same instructions for the
PCers except that they can more often just double click and the suffix is
enough to trigger their favorite browser.

2. Under the top level have any folders you want, just one if you like but
best is to take advantage of the HFS and use at least one folder under the
index.html which has all the other html files and a folder for pics.

3. Make sure the links on the internal site are in correct form and refer to
folders and material you actually have. Make sure that links to outside web
files are in absolute form with http://www. etc in them

4. Make sure you burn the CD in ISO 9660 and not just for mac files and
folders so folk with PCs can read them.

Am aware that these instructions might require further details but I don't
know what you know or don't know :)

Best of luck

David Elmo
