First of all, what kind of iMac does she have? A flatpanel iMac?
Tray-loading? All iMacs have at least USB 1.1, the later flatpanel iMacs
have USB 2.0 and firewire. The Colored slot-loading iMacs have USB 1.1 and
Firewire, while the tray-loading iMacs have only USB 1.1. I would highly
recommend a firewire CDRW if the iMac has firewire because, as mentioned
earlier, USB 1.1 can only go at 4x which, these days, is unbearably slow.
Writing a whole CD at 4x would take almost 30 minutes! If the iMac has both
firewire and USB yes, she is free to choose between the two.
