I have a G3-upgraded PCI Mac (hybrid 7600). I'm going to need a very large external hard drive, and I want a CD burner, too. Having been burned too often on used SCSI drives of both sorts, FireWire seems the way to go. New equipment.
Any recommendations or warning for this emprise? One FireWire card into my Mac, and two external devices - that'll be OK, right? What's the most inexpensive RELIABLE hard ware that you'd recommend? 1. FireWire card (USB too?) 2. FireWire external hard drive (big by SCSI standards - over 40gig, at least) 3. FireWire external CD burner.... Do DVD burners work on old Macs like this? timo P.S. Thanks for the help on some recent problems. I got my OS 9.1 upgrade working just fine. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
