A friend has a 15" monitor that suddenly went funny dim. When the computer
boots up the screen sort of pulsates (or at best settles for the brighter of
two dark options) from very dark and barely visible image of desktop to not
all that much better and certainly not enough to read text and alter things
via software. The brightness controls and contrast knobs on the monitor are
up to max. Is this likely a monitor prob or the video card or something else
in the computer. I will leave all details out. If someone has had this prob,
appreciate your experience. Just asking this before hauling a monitor around
to my friend to test with a different monitor, or hauling her gear to my
place... O and banging the monitor does not help! So maybe the video card
...
