I've been trying to install a IBM manufactured (for compaq) 9.1gb hard drive in a PM 7500. The drive has a 50 pin to sca adapter. It was listed as compatible with 7300-9600 model Power Macs. The drive appears in the system profiler but is unsupported by drive setup in OS 9.1 and 9.2.2. It can be accessed by Hard Drive Speed Tools 3.5 but the Volume/ Status description reads: Invalid Volume Signature and it will not mount. The drive seems to run fine when running utilities in HD Speedtools such as the Device test. It reprts no err0rs and it also lets you format it. I sthere anthing that can be done. Thanks in advance.
sorry but what is the problem - that it wont mount or wont be formatted ? try Mt Everything and use driver built into Mt Everything,
diskwarrior or norton ?
lovek
