This place has a SCSI guru that can also help you solve your termination questions:

Mac Price Breakers ... I've used them with great success.

term power should be jumpered, & that should do it.
there's no parity jumper? that's jumpered on my apple drives (on the end,
next to the id jumpers) you can just move one of the id jumpers over to the
term power one.
it's weird, but the drive, when terminated, will allow another drive after
it, which you can then terminate. why is this?
there are also terminators that go on the last connection of the scsi ribbon.
I thought "term power" was not the same thing as terminating the drive? Yes, there's a set of parity pins but no jumper on it; never has been (but I'm not the original owner of this machine). I don't know whether I should muck with that or not--I'm not clear on what it is.
Right now I have a terminated adapter plug installed on the end of the SCSI cable and my problem seems to have disappeared. I see where I can get a regular terminating plug (so I can have my adapter back) but I would rather just know for sure that the CD can be terminated with the onboard pins. Thanks. --Anna
