I had a similar problem with a wandering mouse ... the cursor would start moving across the screen, mostly horizontally, on its own.

It was a Kensington 2-button ADB mouse I bought "new" off eBay from Sony in NY. I also have a Sonnet G4/450. In one machine I had a ixMicro Ultimate Rez (which I have since removed and am using the on-board video) in that 8500 with a Sonnet G3/500 (needed the slot for a FW/USB PCI card). In my other 8500, I have the Radeon 7000 Mac Edition.

It occurred more often in the machine with the G4 if I remember correctly ... Sonnet thought it might be a bad Kensington Mouse ... Kensington never resolved the problem - thought it might have to do with me having the cursor speed set too high ...

The wandering would push an already taxed cpu over the edge ... I am running several music apps at the same time ... it would cause my audio card to cut out (I believe) - because with the wandering, the cpu would be pushed too far.

I have resorted to using a wireless USB mouse and keyboard by Logitech, and steer clear of the ADB ones.

Hmmm ... I don't believe this is of much help.

Any ideas what could be causing my cursor to briefly flash on a part of the
screen inches away from where the cursor presently is? It's a 9600 upgraded
with a Sonnet G4 450 card, the stock ixMicro video card, 608 megs of ram. I
have not tested with a different monitor or mouse and have only noticed this
recently, though I have had this Mac for a few months now.

Thanks All,
