Don't know if a G4 is considered a part of this group. If not please direct me to the right group. *G*
The "G-List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> would be the right list.
I have a G4 with 128mb of RAM. Santa brought me two 256MB chips/cards for Christmas.
Any suggestion on installing the memory other tahn turning off the power. They suggest also removing the power cord????
My preference has always been to keep the power cord plugged in. It keeps the computer earth grounded. Just make sure you don't accidently hit a power on button. Before installing the DIMMs make sure you touch some exposed metal inside the computer to ground yourself. If you can keep some skin touching the metal.
As you install the memory make sure the notches in the memory all align exactly with the keys in the memory slots. Older memory has a notch in ALMOST the same location, about one notch width over. It's possible to put the wrong memory in if you push hard enough. After installing the memory press the CUDA button. I don't recall off hand where it is in the G4. It's about 1/4" across and has a 1/8" diameter button in the middle pointed up.
