Hi Phil, I'm not that familiar with the hardware spec of the 5400's - what is the setup for the ethernet port?? is it an onboard port (built into the motherboard) or does it come on a separate PCI card?? if it's on a PCI card or you have a spare PCI slot, I have an ethernet card lying around unused. Let me know if you can benefit and I'll stick it in the post for you :)
