Hi listers, Looking at buying a 29160N SCSI adapter. I haven't seen any mention of a Mac or PC version yet. Are these drop-in suitable for both machines provided the correct software drivers are installed? Or does one need to be flashed to us it on the other system, if you understand me? Thanks
There are separate versions of the 29160 for the Mac and the PC. The PC version has a flash memory chip which is half the size of the one on the Mac version, so you can't simply flash a PC card to use on a Mac. I've never had my hands on one myself, but folks who've emailed me say that replacing the chip with a larger one and then flashing it works.
