I did about 5 minutes research on this for you - as performas are badly supported under Linux, and you have just about the only model supported my regular LinuxPPC. Mandrake is a good distro to try, but YellowDog Linux will also supposedly work. Take a look at www.yellowdoglinux.com for more info and download mirrors. Beware though, YDL is a pig to install on oldworld hardware unless you follow the instructions to the letter (hint - print them out...)
