Hi again listers,

I'm about to transplant a G3 400 card (Formac) from my
9500 to my 9600. The 9500 was a 120, the 9600 is a
200. I also plan on transplanting the startup disk
from the 9500 and making it the startup disk for the
9600. Plus I want to move the video card from the 9500
to the 9600 so I can have a dual monitor setup.

1) Is there anything special I should do besides just
resetting the CUDA?

2) Any thoughts on what order I should move and test
things? HD/Video/CPU? or?

I'm sure hoping I don't ever have to put that [EMAIL PROTECTED]
9500 back together after I start taking things out of
it. To that end I want to do things in an order that
will best ensure the continuing operability of the
9600 through the upgrade process. I'm thinking that
along these lines, it will be easiest to do the drive
transplant first, since it can be done without totally
dismantling the 9500, and can be put back in the 9500
without too much difficulty should I fail to get it up
an running on the 9600. Also, I know that the system
setup on the 9500 drive works fine with the G3 Card.

3) Does anyone know what the bus speeds on the
9600/200 and the 9500/120 are?

The Formac G3 card has a wide array of switches to
flip based on bus speed of the original machine. I
have a vague recollection of things not working right
when I first put it in the 9500 several years ago
until I flipped a few switches. I'm hoping I can just
swap it out without having to adjust things.

I'm getting there.

Thanks in advance,

Steve Zerby
