Hi,

I have a pmac7500/100 upgraded with a sonnet crescendo 500mhz PCI card and 320MB
memory. The monitor in place is just as old, being a UMAX D1700. Now, my first guess
is, this monitor has lasted longer than it should have and it is now dying. But, just
in case, I'm wondering if this jumping thing that the screen is doing can be stopped.
It started suddenly and I have made no changes to my system for quite a while.
Basically, all the computer is used for at this point is word-processing and the
internet, with an occasional heavy use of photoshop, illustrator and quark.

Just to be clear, the screen trembles and jumps in no particular rhythm and not really
related to the surface it is on. I clean it regularly and noticed the jumping stopped
momentarily after I dusted it with one of those magnetic cling dusting cloths (a
swiffer). Any ideas? Please email me directly off list at the aol address above.

Thanks,

tamara
