it is, but when I installed it in the 7200, it refused to read.#####################

Nathan, If it is at the end of the SCSI chain see if it is terminated. All connections must be clean and tight.
After unplugging the AC you might also press the cuda switch. . and pull the PRAM battery and let the machine set for a while.
Write back for instructions if necessary..
